INFORMATIONS • Clan HistoryThis page retraced the history of Uchiha Clan from the beginning to the most recent events as stated in Kishimoto's manga. The most of the informations are collected and patchworked during my various raids over the internet; check the bottom of the page for all the due credits and sources. Directly quoted stuff is in italic. --Please note that this page displays SPOILERS shamelessly. • The Origins of Hate This story began around 80 years ago, where the world was tainted by continuos battles between the countries and damyo, and ninjas were nothing but a bunch of different and separate clans, hired time by time by the various countries to meet their necessities in battle. 
Uchiha Clan was one of the most powerful, appreciated for the versatility in battle of its members and their extraordinary chackra; their natural rivals were the members of the Senju Clan.At the time the leaders of the respective clans were Madara Uchiha, the most powerful ninja of the Uchiha Clan possessing the special feature known as Magenkyo Sharingan together with his little brother Izuna, who helped him in leading the clan, and Hashirama Senju, the only user of Wood Element, Tobirama's big brother and future First Hokage. After a series of direct fights, the two clans were practically devasted; Senju offered a truce that Uchiha accepted, despite the opposition of Madara, who couldn't defer the hate they shared for so long and his little brother's sacrifice... In the end Madara was forced to accept his clansmen needs and he shook hands with Madara right after, founding Konoha Village [Konohagakure], that will lately turn into the Fire Country's "official" ninja village, starting the country/village trend now common in Naruto's universe. So, it looked like peace was finally achieved but something happened that threw Konoha into chaos: a fight over the position of Hokage. Hashirama gained the title legitimally, acclaimed by various sides, but Madara saw this as a threat for the dignity of his clan: his own clansmen betrayed him and followed Hashirama instead, leaving Madara the only choice to desert the village and his clan. Right after it, Madara decided to attack Konoha by summoning the Nine Tail Fox [Kyuubi]; he gave Hashirama a hard time but in the end he was defeated at the place now called The Valley of the End, and supposed dead he was erased by ninja's history. After this shocking event Tobirama, who'll lately become the Second Hokage, decided to grant to the Uchiha Clan a special position to show them his trust, the Konoha Military Police's, which true purpose was distancing Uchiha from governing roles and keeping an eye on them via ANBU. We arrive at 16 years ago's events, another attack of the Kyuubi revived Senju's suspicious about Uchiha Clan, since the Sharingan, Uchiha's Bloodline Limit, is the only feature that can control the creature: the advisors and Danzou suspected that the Uchiha were planning a coup d'etat and forced Hiruzen (the Third Hokage) to move Uchiha Clan out of Konoha's walls, in something like a real ghetto and commonly referred as "Uchiha Village". At this point Konoha's mistrust birthed ill-will and their suspicions became reality--[1] • The Uchiha Massacre Uchiha really started to plan a coup d'etat, leaded by Fugaku Uchiha nonetheless; some rebels who were remembering Madara's words were there already, and Senju's behaviour just relived the ancient hate. 
Anticipating their moves, Konoha's advisors decided to plant a spy in the Uchiha Clan: Itachi Uchiha, a young and talented boy devoted to peace and Konoha more than everything.When Itachi got promoted into ANBU, Fugaku considered it a good chance to have him spy on Konoha, having the boy actually working as a double agent in the dishuman situation of betraying his own family. Hiruzen tried to convince the advisors that the situation could still be solved with some diplomacy and verbal confrontation, but in the end Itachi received the order to massacre the Uchiha Clan to keep the ninja world's status quo and grant the peace between countries. Itachi carried his duty perfectly but for one tiny error: he wasn't unable to kill his littler brother; he entrusted his safety to Hiruzen and performed things out to have Sasuke fighting and eventually killing him. Killing a missing ninja and a traitor would grant to Sasuke enough prestige to finally clean Uchiha's Clan name to Senju's eyes, so that the boy could wear the crest on his back proudly. So, what Sasuke lived as a personal tragedy was nothing but a necessary political act that Itachi endured to keep what he wanted to protect safe 'til the end... • Itachi vs Sasuke So, the epitome of Uchiha Clan's tragedy was rappresented by the final fight between Sasuke and Itachi, a relationship tainted with hate and grudge, shaped by Itachi's will for his little brother's sake. The Uchiha Clan story has been a story of cruelty and violence, since the improvement of Sharingan was based on the development of hate feelings and the killing between clansmen; the reachment of a perfect Magenkyou Sharingan costed an eye tranplant from a blood-related person and the activation of the Magenkyo Sharingan in the first place was said to need the death of the closest friend. 
With this introduction destined to explain to Sasuke his actions, Itachi greeted his otouto in the Uchiha hideout for the final confrontation.The fight was long and painful, Itachi forced to display his complete collection of genjutsu and special doujutsu to bring Sasuke to the edge, a strategy focused on letting Orochimaru out of Sasuke's exhausted body to seal him with the legendary Totsuka Sword and free Sasuke from the Heaven Seal's curse. The two brothers were completely exhausted by the fight, but Itachi still had the strenght for a last threat to Sasuke: finally getting his eyes to get a perfect Magenkyou... But to Sasuke's surprise, Itachi just poked Sasuke's forehead before passing out in front of him, now dead at his feet as it started to rain. Sasuke won but he didn't defeat Itachi, who approached the battlefield already certain of his death. The boy is later helped by Madara, who offered him first aid and told him the true story behind Itachi's actions: protect Konoha, his little brother and the Uchiha Clan's dignity to Sasuke's eyes. Emotionally destroyed by the sudden revelations, Sasuke awakened his very own Magenkyou Sharingan with the oath of avenging Itachi and destroying Konoha. Now only the revelation on Madara's final scenario is left to close this circle of blood...
